# SCOPED 3 POSITIONAL RIMFIRE

Precision shooting that is more target orientated and more testing of the shooter’s ability. Modified from the smallbore 3 positional match in c1970 and more difficult in that you must use less positioning gear and a two point sling.
First position is Prone which is lying down – 20 rounds fired in 30 minutes at 50 metres, 5 shots on each of the 4 targets. Total possible score is 200.20.
Second position is Offhand which is defined as standing unsupported (except for 2 point sling) – 20 rounds fired in 30 minutes at 50 metres, 5 shots on each of the 4 targets. Total possible score is 200.20.
Final Position is Sitting or Kneeling unsupported – 20 rounds fired in 30 minutes at 50 metres, 5 shots on each of the 4 targets. Total possible score is 200.20.
The total possible score for this match is 600.60. The numbers after the decimal are ‘X’ rings which are scored if the projectile touches the inner bull.
The “SSAA Official Rimfire Target” is a 6 value target, the dimensions of which are exactly half those of the “SSAA Official 100 metres/yards Centrefire Target” (except for the scoring ring thickness which is NOT halved but remains at 1 millimeter) i.e. the “BULL” (10 ring) has a diameter of 2 centimeters, the “X” ring of 5 millimeters and the spacing between the scoring rings is 1 centimeter from the outside of one ring to the outside of the next adjacent ring. Ring diameters are measured outside to outside and the outside diameter of the total scoring area is 12 centimeters (i.e. “5” ring diameter).
